DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Greek Freak has opted to stay in Milwaukee, signing a five-year, $228 supermax extension to remain with the Bucks.
With the dream of Giannis coming to Dallas gone, how will the Mavs move forward with one of their top targets off the board? K&C reacted to the news in the video above.
Antetokounmpo joined Paul George to became the second player from the 2021 free-agent mega class to sign an extension this week.
There are still several star players that will be available come next offseason. Among them are Rudy Gobert, Victor Oladipo, DeMar DeRozan, Mike Conley, LaMarcus Aldridge and Kyle Lowry.
A slew of other players can exercise their player options and opt-out of the final year of their contracts. Those players include Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, Blake Griffin, Jrue Holiday and Spencer Dinwiddie.
And, dare I say it, the 2022 free agent class might be looking even better with names such as James Harden, John Wall, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine and Marcus Smart potentially becoming available.
The Mavs are flush with cap space. So fans can take solace in the fact that they'll be adding talent to the future of the team with Luka and Porzingis already in tow.
It just won't be the Greek Freak.
