37-year-old shooting guard JJ Redick has announced his retirement from the NBA. Redick made the announced on his The Old Man and the Three podcast.

Redick chronicled his basketball playing life on the episode, expressing, "It is time for me to be a dad, it's time for me to reflect, pause, and it's time for me to get ready for the next phase of my life."

Redick, one of the game's greatest shooters of all time, shooting 41.5-percent from three-point range on 5.0 attempts per game for his career.

Redick most recently spent time with the Mavericks, coming over a trade that sent James Johnson and Wes Iwundu to New Orleans.

In 13 games for Dallas, Redick averaged 4.4 points per game, and shot 39.5-percent from three.
