Update: Porzingis is expected to play Wednesday vs the Rockets, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said Tuesday.

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks will once again be without their star big man Kristaps Porzingis on Monday night, in an absence that could extend for some time.

Rick Carlisle, who made the announcement to the media before tip-off, told reporters that the injury (a wrist sprain), has been bothering Porzingis for weeks, and could cause him to miss multiple games.

This is not the first injury concern Porzingis has had to deal with so far this season, with the 25-year-old playing in just 31 of the Mavs 48 games so far this season.

In those 31 games, Porzingis is averaging 20.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, while hitting 47.4-percent from the floor and 35.9-percent from three.
