DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - With free agency set to begin in three days, the Dallas Mavericks have found a taker for Josh Richardson's contract.
The Mavs have agreed to trade the guard to the Boston Celtics, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Friday evening.

Dallas will receive the Celtics' $10.9 million trade exception after Richardson chose to exercise his $11.6 million player option for the 2021-22 season.
ESPN's Bobby Marks reports that the deal will be finalized Saturday.
The Mavs can either absorb a player's contract under $10.9 million without sending anything back in return, or they can renounce the exception and use it as cap space.
The deal also gives the Mavs the ability to have up to 34.3 million in cap space, but that figure doesn't include what it would cost to bring back Tim Hardaway Jr., whom the Mavs would like to bring back.
Marc Stein reported earlier Friday of the Mavs intentions to target Raptors free agent guard Kyle Lowry when teams can begin negotiating with free agents at 5 p.m. CT on Monday, Aug. 2.
Richardson was a massive disappointment for the Mavs in his first and only season, coming to the organization in exchange for Seth Curry last summer, as the team searched for ways to improve their defense.
That marriage simply did not work, however, as Richardson shot a career-low 33 percent from deep, while also having one of the worst years of his career from the field overall at 42.7 percent.
Richardson also managed just 12.1 points per game last season, his worst number since the 2016-17 season with Miami.
