Former first-round and ex-Cowboy Rolando McClain was arrested in his home state of Alabama on Saturday after police found a concealed weapon and marijuana in his 2022 Mercedes according to TMZ Sports.

McClain -- who last played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 was pulled over after going 70MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The 33-year-old told authorities that he had a gun in his car that was not his. Cops later determined that he didn't have a license to carry the weapon.

According to the Moulton Police Dept, they smelled an odor reeking from McClain's car. While doing a sweep of his vehicle, they found a pouch of chewing tobacco that they say also had a separate bag of marijuana in it.

McClain was booked on possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, and misdemeanor unlawful possession of marijuana.

Sadly this is not the first time that McClain has had run-ins with the law. His wrap sheet dates all back to 2011 when he was arrested on a third-degree assault charge in Georgia. Following that arrest, McClain was booked three more times prior to his most recent arrest.

The 33-year-old former linebacker had an up and down career in the NFL. He was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the 2010 Draft with the expectation that he'd be the next great linebacker in the league.

He started off with three disappointing seasons in Oakland before calling it quits from the game following a short stint with the Baltimore Ravens.

McClain finally found his footing in Dallas after the team picked him up after an injury to Sean Lee. At one point, McClain was second on the team in tackles and was a legitimate candidate for the Comeback Player of the Year Award. However his time with the Cowboys was short-lived after he was suspended indefinitely in 2016 for failing two drug tests during and prior to the season.

He was conditionally reinstated in 2019 but was released by the Cowboys when the reinstatement became official. Three months later, he was again suspended indefinitely.

McClain bonded out of jail immedialety after the arrest.
