The Charlotte Hornets have suspended radio play-by-play voice John Focke indefinitely after he tweeted a racial slur on Monday.

In a now-deleted tweet, Focke tweeted about the Utah Jazz-Denver Nuggets playoff game but used the N-word instead of Nuggets.

Focke tweeted an apology on Monday night saying he is unsure how that word was used and he takes "full responsibility."

Focke was hired by the Hornets in April of 2019 after his predecessor, Chris Kroeger, was dismissed by the team after less than a year on the job.

Prior to Focke and Kroeger, Steve Martin had served as the team's play-by-play voice for the first 30 years of the team's history.
