Desoto High Schools Boys Basketball coach, Richard Bacon, announces he is retiring from coaching after 44 years in North Texas.
KRLD most recently caught up with this coaching veteran after his big win at the McDonald's All-Star game in Houston. Bacon led Team East to defeat the West, 109- 106, marking his 702nd game win.
Bacon is also most notably recognized for leading the Lincoln High School's Boys Basketball team to two state titles in 1990 and 1993.
He has a long legacy here in North Texas with bringing success to high school basketball teams and with preparing our amazing young local talent for their next chapters of their lives.

No doubt his departure from coaching and teaching will be missed by his students and colleagues.
Bacon has not revealed his future plans after retirement, only that he plans to be there for his family and possibly work with kids in future basketball camps.
Bacon previously partnered with Rolando Blackman, former Dallas Maverick, on basketball camps all over the world. He says that would be another passion project he would like to possibly continue.
