DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers weren't able to strike a deal at the buzzer involving starter Lance Lynn, but they were able to move catcher Robinson Chirinos and infielder Todd Frazier to the New York Mets right before the trade deadline came to an end Monday, the club announced.

The Rangers will reportedly receive two players to be named later in exchange for the veterans. According to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Texas will send the Mets $360,000 to complete the Chirinos deal.

The first trade reunites Frazier with the Mets, the team he spent the last two seasons with. The 34-year-old is hitting .241 with two home runs and seven RBI in 31 games with Texas. The move opens up more playing time for the Rangers youngsters such as Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Ronald Guzman.

Chirinos, 36, has been limited to just 14 games this season due to a sprained left ankle. He's hitting just .119 in 42 at-bats. He rejoined the Rangers after one season with the Astros where he hit 17 home runs. In 2018, Chirinos set career highs with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in Texas. That deal also opens up more playing time for young backstop Jose Trevino.

Earlier Monday, the Rangers sent left-hander Mike Minor to Oakland in exchange for two minor leaguers.
