DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - After all the trade rumors that have been floated out over the last several days, the trade deadline ended with the Rangers not moving their two biggest trade chips.

Texas was able to pry two prospects from the Oakland A's in exchange for starting pitcher Mike Minor, and a couple of prospects out of the New York Mets for catcher Robinson Chirinos and infielder Todd Frazier. However, nothing materialized on right-hander Lance Lynn and outfielder Joey Gallo despite several clubs reportedly being interested in their services.

According to multiple reports, Texas spoke with the Los Angeles Dodgers right up until the buzzer sounded but they were unable to come to an agreement this time around. Both clubs were able to strike a deal for then Rangers ace Yu Darvish right before the deadline back in 2017.

Lynn has been spectacular ever since he signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Rangers last year. Following the 2019 season where he went 16-11 with a 3.67 ERA, the right-hander is 4-1 this season with a 1.93 ERA through eight starts.

The 33-year-old will earn $8 million in the final year of his contract in 2021.

Gallo, 26, is under club control the next two seasons. He'll become a free agent following the 2022 season.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels is expected to join 105.3 The Fan in the 4 o'clock hour Monday. Listen here.
