Anybody remember the US bicentennial? We're going back to 1976 for the Friday Flashback this week. It was the year that Jimmy Carter beat Gerald Ford for president, gymnast Nadia Comaneci wowed us at the Summer Olympics, and we watched "Bicentennial Minutes" on TV.

Popular films in 1976 included Rocky, Taxi Driver, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Starsky and Hutch and Kojak were solving crimes on television. And the must-have toy was Stretch Armstrong, an action figure that was actually filled with corn syrup so you could stretch out his arms and legs.

What was the popular music in 1976? Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan and the Steve Miller Band were blasting out of our transistor radios. Listen Friday night at 10 for a full bicentennial music refresher course with host Amber Star.

Thanks to our sponsor, Funk's Pub in Fitchburg. Feel the vibe!
