The altercation between Odell Beckham Jr. and Marlon Humphrey caught plenty of headlines this week.
During a run play, Beckham swung at Humphrey, who brought him down to the ground after the play with his hands on his collar.
Both players were flagged on the play, but it's the events that led up to that moment that should have Ravens' fans excited.
Humphrey shut down Beckham. Shadowing the All-Pro throughout the entire game, Humphrey limited Beckham on two catches for 20 yards.
The Ravens defense was terrible, giving up 500 yards for the second straight game, but Humphrey was a bright spot. The third-year cornerback has developed into the No. 1 cornerback Baltimore envisioned back on draft day in 2016.
Humphrey is a fun player to watch. He's physical and not afraid to get up in receiver's faces or make a downhill pursuit on a running back. His play has been especially important in Jimmy Smith's abcense.
Even with his improvements, Humphrey has been accountable for his mistakes. He acknowledged giving up a long reception to Ricky Seals-Jones in a defensive miscommunication last week.
Humphrey has established himself as the No. 1 cornerback in Baltimore and a franchise piece in the secondary.
