Defensive tackle Michael Brockers will not start his 2020 season with the Baltimore Ravens.

After reportedly agreeing to a three-year, $30 million contract, concerns raised about Brockers ankle became too big an obstacle in the agreement.

DL Michael Brockers deal with Ravens falls through-On March 16, Brockers reaches 3-year, $30M deal ($21M guaranteed)-This week, concerns are raised about Brockers' ankle which he injured in 2019 season finale-On Friday, new agreement can't be reached and Brockers rejoins Rams

According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Brockers expected to reach a new agreement with Baltimore Friday. After both sides could not agree, Brockers promptly resigned with the Los Angeles Rams.

Spending his entire career with the Rams, Brockers has racked up 23 sacks, 52 quarterback hits, and nine pass deflections.

A contract falling through due to injury concerns isn't uncommon for the Ravens. In 2018, Baltimore had a four-year, $29 million agreement in place with wide receiver Ryan Grant. When Grant failed a physical with an ankle injruy, the Ravens wisely voided the contract.

With the latest news on Brockers, the Ravens will regain the $5 million cap hit totaling $15 million left in cap space.

With defensive tackle Michael Pierce signing with the Vikings as well as Chris Wormley traded to the Steelers, the Ravens now have a void along the defensive line.

Unfortunately, free agents such as Ndamukong Suh have already signed contracts with other teams.

For the Ravens, free agency moving ahead will be intriguing to say the least. As Brandon Williams provides the flexibility of playing either nose tackle or defensive end, the Ravens have flexibility in finding Pierce's replacement.

Some names to keep an eye out for are defensive end Everson Griffin, versatile defensive end Jabaal Sheard, or a reunion with defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.
