If you're listing the Ravens' top offseason needs, wide receiver is among them. Fans know, pundits know, and John Harbaugh knows.
At the Harbaugh's end of season press conference, the head coach said the Ravens have a "feel" of the type of receivers they want to bring in.
"We have a very good feel for the type of receivers we want to bring in," Harbaugh said. "We want a certain type of guy that fits us."
Harbaugh didn't go into much more detail than that, but the Ravens could add a possession receiver and more speed to the position. Willie Snead is back for one more year, while Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Miles Boykin head into their second seasons.
Mark Andrews was the team's leading receiver this season. The Ravens ran the ball more efficiently than any team, so it's not at all surprising that they didn't rank among the top passing teams.
There are two ways the Ravens could add receivers, through free agency and the draft. Some of the notable free agent receivers include Amari Cooper, Emmanuel Sanders, Devin Funchess, and A.J. Green. Harbaugh also said he was told this is a good year to draft a wide receiver, and he's right.
The Ravens hold pick No. 28 in the first round of the NFL Draft and will have an opportunity to add to the receiving core.
As Lamar Jackson continues to develop, so will his wide receiver core.
