BALTIMORE -- Offensive lineman James Hurst has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2020 regular season. Hurst violated the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The lineman came in undrafted in 2014 with the Ravens. Hurst was active for all 16 games of the 2019 regular season. He mainly took a handful of snaps on special teams. Hurst played right guard for Marshal Yanda in a handful of games including the first game in Miami and week 10 against the Bengals. Hurst took a few snaps at right guard when Yanda was taken out of games early. He also played all 63 snaps at left tackle in the win against the Steelers in week 17.

He will forfeit about 1.2 million for the four unpaid missed games. He will earn a base salary of $4 million, while carrying a cap hit of $5.2 million.
He is allowed to participated in preseason practices and games. The Monday following the fourth game, Hurst will be allowed to return to the team's active roster.
