The Patriots losing to the Texans on Sunday Night Football made way for the Ravens as the number one seed in the AFC. However, there are still a few games to played and the Ravens are not crowning themselves, yet.
There hasn't been a team that has clinched the playoffs…yet. If Baltimore wins in Buffalo this weekend, it would be the earliest playoff berth in Ravens history. The Ravens can take the AFC North Title with a win against the Bills and a Steelers loss. The Steelers play against the Cardinals (3-8-1) in Arizona this Sunday. If the Ravens tie, and Pittsburgh loses, they can also take the title.
Not only are they the number one seed, right now but they finally made it to the top of ESPN's Power Rankings with a 10-2 record. They were ranked 17th in preseason and jumped to the No. 8 spot after the 59-10 victory in Miami Week 1. During Weeks 12 and 13, the Ravens held the No. 2 spot, while New England has been sitting at the top since Week 11. Yeah, since Week 11, after the Ravens 37-20 victory against New England and the blowout against the Bengals.
The Ravens play the Bills (9-3) this Sunday, and the last three games include the Jets (4-8), the Browns (5-7), and the Steelers (7-5).
There have been two teams in the AFC that have been eliminated: the Cincinnati Bengals (1-11) and the Miami Dolphins (3-9).
