Disgraced former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has been silent ever since he resigned from his position after an investigation into the Washington Football Team found emails Gruden had sent to former WFT president Bruce Allen over 10 year ago that contained racist, homophobic and misogynist remarks.
But now, Gruden has crawled out of his hole to shed a little bit of light on the story.
Andrea Kremer, who profiled Raiders owner Mark Davis for Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, explains on the latest episode of the Real Sports Podcast that Gruden suggested that the “truth will come out" when he was recently reached by a producer on a phone call.
“Maggie Burbank, who produced the story that we just did on Mark Davis, she actually called Gruden and he picked up the phone, much to I think her surprise,” Kremer said. “And he’s still in Las Vegas. . . . He says he’s letting the dust settle. He said, ‘People who know me know what I stand for 58 years. I have a resume of 58 years.’ He said, ‘The truth will come out.’ It’s certainly cryptic.”
With this new revelation from Gruden, it just adds even more intrigue into a story that is far from over.
We're not entirely sure what “truth” Gruden is talking about here, but perhaps Gruden figures his opportunities in the football world are all but finished so why not bring everyone down with him.
