Even the Sunshine State goes through some cold weather the good thing about our "winters" is they last days not months!
So for all vacationers looking to escape winter weather by visiting Florida water parks, specifically Orlando, mother nature has other things in mind. The cold and freezing temps in some areas have the state’s water parks shutting down.
Warm weather reportedly may return by Thursday with the low temperatures returning to the mid-50s.
Universal Studios tweeted about the closures, writing, “Volcano Bay will be closed due to cold weather on Monday, January 20th, Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd.” The theme park’s Twitter account also confirmed that Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and CityWalk will be open as scheduled.
Disney World’s website also states that Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed Monday through Wednesday, although it does not state if this is because of the cold weather. According to the website, the park will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning.
If you really want to dip into some water you can always head to the beach. Brrrrr. I'll pass. ~grace
