Def Leppard Teams Up With ZZ Top for Fall Tour

The summer stadium tour isn't enough

As if taking part in one of the biggest rock tours of the summer wasn’t enough, Def Leppard is following it up with a fall tour with another legendary band.

Just weeks after the stadium tour with Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett ends, the “Rock of Ages” band will hit the road with ZZ Top. The 16-date Vision Tour will hit mid-sized cities that the stadium tour missed. The trek begins September 21st in Albany, NY and runs through October 18th in Spokane, WA. You can buy tickets here after they go on sale February 21st.

“What a year this is going to be!” frontman Joe Elliott exclaimed. “First, sold out stadiums, then we go on tour with the mighty ZZ Top! Having been an admirer of the band for a lifetime it’s gonna be a real pleasure to finally do some shows together. Maybe some of us will get to go for a spin with Billy (Gibbons) in one of those fancy cars.”

The 2020 Vision Tour brings together two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame bands. Def Leppard was inducted in 2019, while ZZ Top was enshrined in 2004 on the strength of blues-based hits like "Cheap Sunglasses" and "Sharp Dressed Man."

“We’re excited about hitting the road with Def Leppard this fall; we’ve been fans of theirs since forever,” Gibbons said. “We’ve been at this for 50 years now and the forthcoming run with them underscores that the good times are really just beginning. Joe Elliott is always welcome to ride shotgun with us and we won’t even ask him to pay for the gas.”
