This week, "Wheel of Fortune" included one of those big mistakes that are alternately aggravating for fans, but keep them coming back for more.
It was the second round, and for most of the show, contestant Tenaya was moving along smoothly. Then she rolled up on the $10,000 bonus wedge for the puzzle, and after exhausting all possible vowels, the board read "_URASSIC PARK _O_IES", leaving her with three spaces for consonants.
At that point, Tenaya took a stab at the answer and guessed, “Jurassic Park Bodies”, though fans were quick to groan as the correct answer for the hint "Show Biz" was actually “Jurassic Park Movies.”
Just one slip-up, right? Still, as Yahoo Entertainment noted, it was a reference to one of the most famous and popular film franchises of all time. Plus, it cost Tenaya $10,000 and a trip to the bonus round.
Admittedly, there have definitely been even easier mistakes made before on the iconic game show. It was only about a month ago when one contestant got to the puzzle “TH_S _AND _AS MADE FOR YOU AND ME” and guessed, "This band has made for you and me.”
Ouch.
Nevertheless, this week's head-slapper sent fans scurrying to Twitter to register their surprise.
One fan felt it was up there on some kind of list of Wheel of Fortune stumbles: “Genuinely one of the funnier guesses in Wheel of Fortune history.”
Another landed a funny jab: “Jurassic Park "Bodies"!?? I can't root for folks anymore.”
But we’re guessing Tenaya won’t be worrying too much about fan judgment. As host Pat Sajak reminded everyone after the flub, “It's gonna be OK. It really was fun having you here… $4,500 that round. You won $5,500.”
