While most fast food franchises compete for the title of "best chicken sandwich," Taco Bell has unveiled a game-changing new item: Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco.
The chain previously teased they would “interrupt” the chicken sandwich wars, which we now know consists of all-white piece chicken marinated in jalapeño buttermilk and fried with a crunchy tortilla chip coating.
It’s served in a puffy bread that folds into the shape of a taco.
The whole thing is drizzled with a creamy chipotle sauce.
For those who want a little extra kick, the spicy version includes jalapeño slices.
It will make its debut on March 11 for $2.49, but sadly, not everyone will be able to put the new item to the test as it’s only being served at participating restaurants in Nashville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The good news is that the fast food franchise is planning a nationwide rollout later this year, so you just have to be patient until it arrives at a location near you.
Earlier this month, the franchise announced the new $5 "Build Your Own Cravings Box.” The new deal is available on the app for reward members starting on February 2. Other digital customers can build their box beginning February 11.
There are 18 different types of the limited-time box available for app or web and pay-ahead orders. If you are a vegetarian, you can pick beans for your protein.
The chain also brought back potatoes to their menus in early 2021 after booting them from the menu in August and receiving quite a bit of backlash.
The fast food rivals continue to up the competition when it comes to poultry offerings.
Burger King recently teased it would unveil a chicken sandwich that’s “breaded by hand.”
McDonald’s is days away from releasing its trio of chicken sandwiches – The Crispy Chicken Sandwich, The Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and The Deluxe Chicken Sandwich – on February 24.
Wendy's also beefed up their menu with a new two new chicken offerings: the Jalapeño Popper Chicken Sandwich and Salad.
