John Legend is encouraging voters to be extra cautious of mailing ballots in the final week of the 2020 presidential election. He warns President Trump and U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy have “crippled” the United States Postal Service’s ability to return votes on time.
“Just to complete my voting story... I signed up to track my ballot and got this text today,” the singer tweeted late Tuesday. “If your state offers this, make sure you track your ballot.” Legend attached a screen shot the Los Angeles County Registrar texting an update on his ballot.
With just under a week till votes are counted, John warns against trusting the USPS to deliver your ballot on time. “And a reminder to not rely on the USPS for the final week of voting. They’ve been intentionally crippled by Trump and DeJoy.”
He commented further, reminding followers who chose not to vote by mail to make a plan and on Election Day.
According to CNET, over 69 million votes have already been cast, with more than 44 million via mail-in ballots. If you voted by mail and are curious about tracking your ballot before the November 3 count, check out RADIO.COM’s help page. We break down resources to track in each state.
