Add grocery giant Kroger to the growing list of businesses that require masks, not encourage, inside their premises.
Kroger says starting July 22nd all shoppers will be required to wear a mask or face covering while in stores.
“We are taking this extra step now because we recognize additional precautions are needed to protect our country,” company spokeswoman Kristal Howard said.
Kroger owns nearly 2,800 stores across 35 states, including chains such as Ralph's and Dillons.
Walmart and Sam's Club recently announced they will require everyone to wear face masks in their stores. That policy takes effect Monday.
Costco has been mandating masks for weeks.
