The clothing company is now introducing a collection of plant-based flip-flops that come in three different styles and shades, according to Good Morning America.
Old Navy confirmed that the shoes are moderately constructed from renewable sugarcane, which helps cut down on fossil fuels.
“It looks and feels just like your favorite flip-flops, while helping reduce our carbon footprint, one small step at a time,” the brand said.
Each flip-flop in the collection retails for under $10.
While doing things to help the environment, Old Navy also offers other deals for its customers.
At the beginning of the month, the company gave new US citizens 2021 flag shirts for July 4.
The shirts featured the American flag, but the 2021 version includes the names of the five US territories, including Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Island.
Old Navy announced that the company would be giving away 2021 flag shirts to new United States citizens to celebrate their first Independence Day as citizens of this country.
The clothing company teamed up with Welcoming America, a nonprofit organization that ensures everyone belongs and welcomes naturalized citizens with the gift of its nostalgic flag shirt.
It was also revealed that Old Navy would give a $65,000 donation to Welcoming America that helps build inclusive communities across the United States.
However, a portion of the funds will help July 4 celebration events for newly naturalized citizens through Welcoming America’s member organizations in select places.
