We are just days away from Country music's biggest night, and the time has come to start making some tough choices.
The 2019 CMA Awards are celebrating the legendary women of Country music this year, with Carrie Underwood being joined as host by Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. On a night dedicated to the fiercest females in the field, all eyes are on who will be named Female Vocalist of the Year and continue the tradition.
It's a category that's been dominated by two women for the past decade-plus, with either Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert winning for 12 of the last 13 years. Will the trend continue, or is it time for a change at the top? We need your vote for who you think should win, but first here's a reminder of who is nominated this year.
Kelsea Ballerini
Jason Kempin / Staff
Is it Kelsea's turn to be "Homecoming Queen?" The singer spent the year celebrating the deluxe edition of her second studio album, Unapologetically, and dipped her toe into pop with her collaboration with The Chainsmokers. After a successful run on the Miss Me More Tour, Ballerini is gearing up for album number three.
Miranda Lambert
Jason Kempin / Staff
It's been three years since The Weight of These Wings arrived, but Miranda Lambert has been plenty busy. Touring the world, moonlighting with Pistol Annies, getting married – it's been a productive break for the Texas native. Now she's back with the excellent new album Wildcard, and a lot of momentum coming into the 2019 CMAs.
Maren Morris
Emma McIntyre / Staff
The latest chapter for Maren Morris has been strong and empowering, standing in the front of the GIRL revolution in Country music. The singer released her sophomore album earlier this year, embarked on an all-female World Tour, and continued her run of infectious anthems across the radio. She also launched The Highwomen with Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby, and dropped some knowledge in the pages of Playboy. This could be the perfect mix for a change at the top.
Kacey Musgraves
Rich Fury / Staff
Last year, if there was an Album of the Year category, Kacey Musgraves was winning it. The singer took Golden Hour around the world and invited a whole new piece of the population into Country music. She did it with sincere storytelling, unflinching honesty, and an amazing voice. Will the "Rainbow" trail to Female Vocalist of the Year in 2019?
Carrie Underwood
Jason Kempin / Staff
The reigning Female Vocalist of the Year has won 5 times, and the Cry Pretty singer shows no signs of slowing down. After her album hit number one in 20 countries, Underwood took it around the world for the Cry Pretty Tour 360, leading her own all-female lineup into sold out shows. Even Miranda Lambert has endorsed Underwood for this year's award.
That's five amazing women and only one award. Who will it be to collect this year's CMA Award for Female Vocalist of the Year? Make your voice heard and vote below, and be sure to tune in to the 2019 CMA Awards on Wednesday November 13 at 8PM ET / 7PM CT on ABC.
