Few people get to experience a #1 song in Country music from both sides of the fence. As a #1 songwriter and performer, Cole Swindell has done just that time and time again with ten #1 singles, his most-recent being, “Single Saturday Night.”

“When I moved to Nashville, I just wanted to be able to write songs, that’s why I moved,” Cole told Audacy’s Katie Neal. “I realized I was playing cover songs in bars and I just wanted to write my own stuff. To think I even had one [#1] is crazy.”

He continued, “My mom used to tell me, ‘Cole, did you ever think that you’d be where you are?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’” Can always count on Moms to keep us humble!

Cole admits as he racks up more and more top songs, it can get tricky to navigate a setlist. While it’s a great problem to have, he wonders how greats like George Strait decide which hits to play when it’s impossible to fit them all into a set.

“You go see George Strait or someone and they can’t play all theirs,” Swindell said. “You’re going to miss a couple.”

Not a concern enough to stop him from pumping out more great music as he just released a new song, “Some Habits,” and teased another new one coming “very soon.”

“’Some Habits’ that’s a different direction for me, but I love all different kinds of music and that one to me is a little stripped-down, a little more acoustic and just the message is just amazing to me. It fits me to a T.”

He continued, “Also, we’ve got something brand new coming out very soon and I cannot wait for the world to hear it.”
