During his appearance on the Superstar Power Hour with Audacy's Katie Neal this week, Thomas Rhett shared a bit about his recent trips to Africa. “I've been twice this year,” Rhett said, noting one of those trips was in June. “We were there for almost 3 weeks and I got to bring all my kids. That was all my kids' first time to Uganda, which was really, really special. And that was Willa Gray's first time back to Uganda since we adopted her in 2016.”

“I could go into how amazing that was,” Thomas continued. “My wife works for an organization over there that had just finally finished this project they've been working on forever… this really big center to be able to do a lot of great work over there, and we went for the grand opening… And getting to watch Willa Gray see some faces that actually helped take care of her when she was like 6 months old. For them to see her as a nine-year-old, and tall, and beautiful, and smiling, like that was that, it didn't break my heart, my heart was just like exploding with joy."

Rhett also noted that “getting to see Ada James and Lennon and Lily get to watch Willa Gray be there, they just came home different kids. I don't know how to really describe it,” he expressed, “ I think they kind of went over there and they were just like — gosh, we have so much excess in America. And in Uganda the excess doesn't exist really, and to see the joy that the Ugandans have with so little, I think made my kids go like — huh, do I need all this stuff and do I really want all this stuff for Christmas… So it was it life altering trip, not just for our kids but for me and Lauren as well.”

Thomas and Katie’s conversation also included lots of music talk, with Rhett sharing what it’s been like to watch his song, “Beautiful As You,” rise up the charts and resonate with fans. He also discussed his new album About A Woman, collaborating with Teddy Swims, the CMAs, and more.

Thomas Rhett is set to return to the road in 2025 with his Better In Boots Tour, kicking off on June 5 with Tucker Wetmore -- as well as special guests The Castellows and Dasha on select shows.
