“We feel like fish out of water,” Maren told Audacy’s Josh, Rachael, and Grunwald of being without Hayes. “It was jarring, I’m like, too well-rested. It’s only been 12 hours… so I’m doing OK right now, but by tonight I’m going to be asking our nanny to send like, all the photos!”

“We miss him already! He’s so fun to have on the road!” Ryan said before detailing what they have planned for Hayes’ second birthday party on March 23. “He’s having a petting zoo this year! [There’s] going to be pigs and alpacas… goats. It’s going to be awesome! He loves animals.”

Fitting that he’s an animal guy as Maren also shared details about a new song to be included on her upcoming album, Humble Quest, that she wrote the day she found out she was pregnant called, “Hummingbird.”

“There’s a song on my record called ‘Hummingbird’ and it’s about my son Hayes,” she shared. “It’s a special one to me because I wrote it the day that I found out I was pregnant.”

She continued, “It’s going to be a tear-jerker — if I can even sing it live. Just being able to write something the day you find out you get to meet this person — it was just crazy timing.”

Maren’s new album, Humble Quest, will be available beginning March 25.

Tune in to the 57th Annual ACM Awards, hosted by Dolly Parton, Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen, live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday, March 7 at 8PM ET/7PM CT. For the first time in ACM Awards history, the show will be exclusively broadcast live via Amazon’s Prime Video.
