Shannen Doherty is looking forward to 2024.

The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star, had her mother, Rosa Doherty, as guest on a recent episode of her podcast, “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty,” and the pair discussed the coming new year.

“This year is about just being incredibly grateful that we're here and we get to spend time with the people that are by our sides through thick and thin, who don't walk away, who love us unconditionally, and that have the same beliefs and morals and standards and people who have character,” Doherty said. “I'm just so thankful really to be here for it."

Doherty, who has been dealing with different diagnoses and stages of cancer since 2015, was especially excited for the last few weeks of the year.

“I even got to schedule my cancer infusions where I would be recovered completely from it for Christmas,” she said.

Doherty was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, which she then revealed in 2020 had been moved to Stage 4. In June of 2023, the cancer had spread to her brain, necessitating surgery to remove a tumor there.

“For me, it’s been a turbulent year, some massive health struggles, some massive personal struggles, a lot of heartbreak and fear,” she said on the podcast.

“Even though it's been such a contentious year for me,” she continued. “For some reason it just feels it’s gotten a lot lighter lately and a lot more positive.”

“Next year’s going to be beautiful,” she said.
