On the heels of Ben Gibbard's final livestream home show, Death Cab For Cutie's beloved frontman isn't leaving us empty handed. He released a space inspired solo single titled "Proxima B" plus a B-side cover of Minor Threat's 1981 chaotic rager, "Filler". Ben put his own spin on the track remaking it into a tender piano ballad and it holds up.
About his new solo song, Ben Gibbard recruited fellow Seattle musician, Michael Lerner (who performs under the name Telekinesis) to play drums, sing backing vocals and mix the track. You may remember hearing Proxima B during one of Ben's streaming home shows, but this studio produced version gives depth and power pop layers to the song, which speaks of entering another world.

“Proxima B” b/w “Filler” will be available tomorrow on a 7" vinyl and cassette. Head to Death Cab For Cutie's webstore to grab it!
