Seattle currently sits in third place in the west going into the weekend but there's almost zero wiggle room for the race to the finish line/playoffs.

  • Only the top 7 advance to the playoffs
  • Sounders FC have never missed the playoffs
  • Highest Seattle can finish is 2nd
  • LAFC clinched the top spot and could have best season in MLS history

Any western conference playoff contender losing would be great this weekend, but Minnesota hosting Real Salt Lake to a draw helps Seattle out tremendously.

Seattle's recent performances suggest there are goals to be had, but worryingly the defense is handing em out at home like Ichiro bobbleheads to Mariners fans: show up early and score.
