Food Lifeline, part of the greater Feeding America network, are giving out boxes of food, for free, this week. They're part of a huge team of Seattle area residents, US National Guard members, and local charities and businesses looking to keep food on the table of families during the strangest time most of us have ever witnessed. The items are packed in boxes containing: "22-25 lbs of shelf-stable food items like canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, non-meat protein items, and bread and grains. They will also contain some fresh produce items that tend to have a longer shelf life."
A voice you can trust got behind the message, too:
Importantly, the boxes can be picked up via a drive-up or walk-up no-touch distribution. "ANYONE can have access to this food. This is a confidential distribution, so there will be no paperwork or qualification. Food Lifeline is only asking for zip codes to track its efforts."
