Despite early optimism for the event, Seafair has decided to split the season this year between virtual and in-person events. Sadly, some of the biggest drawing fun is the first to be cut.
Among the big changes to the 2021 event:
- The return of the online Boeing Air Show - no Blue Angels over the waters of Lake Washington this year. Instead, stream a performance online.
- The hydroplanes pilots will race from home on a virtual Lake Washington course.
- The Torchlight Parade will be different. The "We Bring Seafair To You" campaign every week will award neighborhoods a local mini-parade.
