Seattle Theatre Group announced that in addition to indoor masking at shows, they will be requiring proof of vaccination to see shows at the Paramount, Moore, and Neptune theaters. The policy goes into effect August 12, 2021.
From the STG website:
"As of August 12, 2021, STG will require proof of vaccination for entry to all performances at the Paramount, Moore and Neptune Theatres. Those individuals unable to be fully vaccinated, including children under 12, must have proof of a negative Covid test (taken within 72 hours of performance). STG staff will check for proof of vaccination and negative Covid tests at the doors as a condition of entry. Additionally, masking is required inside the venue. Patrons and employees will be required to wear masks, except while actively eating or drinking."
STG isn't the only set of venues requiring proof of vaccination or negative COVID test result so make sure you check first before going to anything so you don't get there just to be turned away from the fun.
While reading the negative comments from people being bad apples about the announcement, I think of the notion that most people see 2 or fewer shows per year. Those of us super-music-consumers that are dying to get back to regular live music reverberating our bodies from soundcheck to encore, the restrictions seem totally reasonable. To be fair, doing mornings keeps me from seeing many shows, but I miss going to everything just to be part of that world.
