Washington is switching to the honor system for vaccine eligibility

The Washington Department of Health will stop using the evidently confusing Phase Finder Tool for booking your vaccination starting March 31, 2021. They announced the change in an email on Friday.

No longer will someone have to prove they are of an eligible category and that "the department trusts most people will continue to wait their turn." So, the honor system it is then. Judging by the amount of people on my social feeds who are not eligible that have received the vaccine, I predict that this solution is a just an admission of defeat. Adults 16+ will be included by May 1st.

Just because there's no requirement of proof doesn't mean you can run out and get it. As of 3/29/21, the vaccine in Washington is currently limited to:
-Anyone with two or more diseases or medical conditions
-Anyone 60 and older
-Anyone living in congregate settings (correctional facilities, group homes for those with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, etc.)
-Additional workers in congregate settings (restaurants, manufacturing, construction)
