Take three minutes to watch this monkey play video games with his mind.
He's a Neuralink patient/prisoner and I can't help but feel bad for the macaques that we're not seeing here where it didn't go as well. Neuralink is an Elon Musk company hoping to drive accessibility in humans.
Now look, I would do a ton for a smoothy, probably some pretty terrible things, but I just can't wrap my mind around one idea - what happens when it's time to upgrade? Changing phones is enough of a headache, but then Apple or whoever redesigns the charging port and you have to buy all new equipment - what if that equipment is attached to your brain?!
"Oh are you still running AppleBrain 3? Ok, Zoomer" I can't even begin to imagine how often you'd have to have freakin' brain surgery to update to a newer device. What happens when the current OS stops supporting your implant and now you get hacked. Certainly other people are thinking of all these issues, but I'm still leaves an uneasy feeling.
