Queens of the Stone Age are finally ready to pull back the curtain on a once-in-a-lifetime performance, inside the tunnels of the Catacombs of Paris. The band has shared that on June 5, they will premiere Alive in the Catacombs, finally realizing a dream that frontman Josh Homme has had for nearly 20 years.

Filmed and recorded in July 2024, Queens of the Stone Age: Alive in the Catacombs captures QOTSA at their most intimate, yet surrounded by literally millions of human remains. “The biggest audience we’ve ever played for,” jokes Josh.

The Catacombs of Paris is a 200 mile ossuary beneath the surface of Paris, made up of several million bodies buried in the 1700s. Homme had wanted to perform inside the unique structure since his first visit, but the city of Paris had never granted permission to any artist to play within the sacred tunnels. Until now.

“We’re so stripped down because that place is so stripped down, which makes the music so stripped down, which makes the words so stripped down," explains Homme in a release. "It would be ridiculous to try to rock there. All those decisions were made by that space. That space dictates everything, it’s in charge. You do what you’re told when you're in there.”

Queens of the Stone Age: Alive in the Catacombs will be available to rent or purchase via qotsa.com where pre-orders are currently available.
