Rockers Evanescence brought out special guest Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach during their performance at Germany's Rock Am Ring over the weekend, to help bring back a bit of nostalgia to their epic performance.

For music fans who have had the pleasure of seeing Evanescence live over the years, whether as a headliner or providing opening support, their sets surely culminate with the crowd screaming along in unison to their 2003 mega-hit "Bring Me to Life." Once a point of contention for the group, singer Amy Lee has explained in the past how they were pressured to include a Rap-rock section in the song and chose to filter that part out later in their careers.
However, that's not to say they've sworn off it completely. Back in March, Lee told Metal Hammer the verse, originally performed by Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, was a "difficult pill to swallow," but has occasionally made its way into their sets if circumstances allowed. "When we’re on tour and we have somebody that fits into that spot, they jump up on the song," she explained. "We were on tour with P.O.D. and we had Sonny [Sandoval] get up a few times. And obviously, if we’re ever in the same town as Paul, who originally did the part, we will have him come up, because it’s fun and it’s cool and nostalgic."
During their performance at Rock Am Ring 2023 this past weekend, Lee brought out Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix to knock the section into the stratosphere for those in attendance. "Come on let's go! Jacoby, get out here and help me out with this," Lee screamed as his intro.
