A season to forget, ends for Rip City

Trail Blazers can only hope a tanked season produces a high draft pick

The 2021-22 NBA seasons started with such optimism for the Portland Trail Blazers. Almost the entire roster was returning for another chance at the NBA Title, or at least a run in the playoffs. The end result was something entirely different. Portland finished 27-55, the most defeats since the 2005-06 season when they went 21-61, and the 6-th worst record in the NBA. It of course should be noted most of this season saw Portland in “Tank Mode”, purposely losing in order to obtain draft picks.

Was it really worth it, though? Do we as fans feel the payoff was proportionate to the reward?
