Bill Cosby Spokesperson Speaks Out On Weinstein
Andrew Wyatt, spokesperson for Bill Cosby, joins the Dom Giordano Program to respond to the result of the Harvey Weinstein trial. Wyatt released a statement on Instagram, comparing the trial of Bill Cosby to Weinstein:
"This is not shocking because these jurors were not sequestered, which gave them access to media coverage and the sentiments of public opinion. There’s no way you would have anyone believe that Mr. Weinstein was going to receive a fair and impartial trial. Also, this judges showed that he wanted a conviction by sending the jurors back to deliberate, after they were hung on many of the counts. Here’s the question that should haunt all Americans, especially wealthy and famous men...Where do we go in this country to find fairness and impartiality in the judicial system; and where do we go in this country to find Due Process? Lastly, if the #metoo movement isn’t just about Becky [White women>, I would challenge #metoo and ask them to go back 400+ years and tarnish the names of those oppressors that raped slaves. This is a very sad day in the American Judicial System."
Wyatt joins Dom to elaborate on the post and explain his negative feelings of the Weinstein verdict through the lens of the Cosby scandal.
The Mumia Saga Continues...
John McNesby, President of Philadelphia’s FOP Lodge 5, joins the Dom Giordano program to discuss and respond to the news that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will investigate alleged conflicts in District Attorney Larry Krasner’s handling of the Mumia Abu-Jamal appeal. The decision comes in response to a petition filed last year by Maureen Faulkner, widow of slain officer Daniel Faulkner, who asked the high court exercise it’s “King’s Bench” power and take up a case that was before a lower court. McNesby explains what this means for the Mumia case, and lays out the precedent that a decision such as this sets for victims looking for justice.
