This morning, on the Rich Zeoli Show, Rich and CEO of PA Resturants and Lodging John Longstreet discussed the abrupt holiday shutdown enacted by Tom Wolf and Rachel Levine. Longstreet like many others in the resturant business are outright appaled by the mandate, and expands on the ways that this shutdown continues to target the service idustry during this pandemic.

The most important thing to takeaway from Longstreet during this interview, are the statisitcs that have just been released following the mandate going into effect throughout PA till the new year. This includes an estimated 400,000 workers suddenly unemployed during the holiday, and to add insult to injury, an estimated 25 million pounds of food was either wasted or donated due to the abrupt rule change as PA has been in the green phase since around summer.

This is a huge blow to all resturants and workers in the service industry, many rely on the income day in and day out to support their families, and the PA government continues to botch the way they handle it, with little to no help offered to the small businesses that make each community unique.

Not to mention the lack of contact tracing and science behind the claims of indoor dining causing the rapid spread of COVID 19. Zeoli and Longstreet discuss the ignorance the government shows while big box stores with ample shoppers continue to thrive as we make way through the pandemic.
