Philadelphia Extends Public Gathering Ban Through February
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by talking about breaking news from KYW that Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney will announce today a 6-month extension to the city’s ban of public gathers over 50 in the face of the pandemic, which would disallow the long-time tradition of the Mummer's Parade. Dom takes umbrage with this decision, explaining that making determinations like this for six months is absolutely asinine. Also, Dom discusses the situation of schools opening come the fall, with a new Wall Street Journal report noting that funding could be diverted if schools do not follow federal suit. Also, Dom hones in on the NJEA and discusses their anti-opening views. And Dom hits on a story out of Washington Township, in which police body camera footage was released showing Officer John Freitag at a Wawa helping a man who had trouble paying for his gas. Dom highlights the story, noting how important it is to show the good things that police officers do on a daily basis.
Jenna Ellis on Supreme Court Decisions, Reopening Schools, and Cancel Culture
Jenna Ellis, Senior Legal Advisor for the Trump 2020 Campaign, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a multitude of topics. First, Jenna Ellis runs through recent Supreme Court decisions, particularly one regarding Dreamers yesterday which noted that the Trump administration must immediately resume processing new DACA applications. Then, Ellis comments on the conversation surrounding the potential for schools to safely reopen, and explains the research behind the President’s effort to get schools open. Finally, Ellis comments on cancel culture, which she calls an insidious manipulative tool of the left that they use to enforce ideology that they agree with.
