The Importance of In-Person Schooling
Today, Dom Giordano led off with a discussion about the potential for schools to reopen this fall. Over the weekend, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos made the media rounds and was torn apart for her office’s push to reopen schools safely. Dom stresses the importance of having in-person schooling, discussing the differences of approach between the public schools and private schools in Philadelphia. Also, Dom discusses cancel culture, now after the Washington Redskins announced that they will indeed be changing their name during the offseason.
Philadelphia Catholic Schools Reopening in Fall
Andrew McLaughlin, Secretary of Elementary Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese, who are going forward in reopening their Catholic schools safely come the fall. McLaughlin stresses the importance of keeping both students in their families safe, and lays out what the schools are doing to ensure the safety of their students. Also, Dom asks McLaughlin about whether or not the guidelines require the wearing of masks, and delves into the foundational principles in their determination in what is safe.
McCloskeys Ordered To Hand Over Their Guns... But Why?
Albert Watkins, attorney for the McCloskey family out of Saint Louis, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to provide an update on the situation involving their clients. The McCloskey’s were the couple that went viral weeks ago after going viral for brandishing handguns to meet protestors who entered into their gated community and marched to their home. Over the weekend, the family was required to surrender both weapons brandished during the incident, both a long rifle and handgun used to deter the protestor. Watkins, when asked what the purpose of the turnover was, indicates that this is another example of a calibrated political effort to put every American on their heels about exercising their constitutional rights.
