Bucks County’s Dr. David Damsker On CDC Mask Guideline Update
Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to explain why he believes the new CDC mandates regarding masks set forth yesterday don’t push far enough. In a press conference yesterday, President Biden announced that masks are no longer required for outdoor activities if the person has been vaccinated. In an interview with WPHT sister station KYW, Damsker told reporter Jim Melwert that he thinks the CDC should’ve pushed a bit further, giving vaccinated folks the opportunity to go mask-less indoors, in efforts to further incentivize people to get the vaccine. Then, Dr. Damsker discusses guidelines that Bucks County has set forth for High School proms as the school year wraps up. Finally, Damsker updates the audience on the Bucks County vaccine rollout, explaining that very soon he expects cases to drop and 12-15 year olds to gain eligibility.
Villanova’s Dr. Rick Eckstein Thinks Radnor Should Remove ‘Raider’ Name
Dr. Rick Eckstein, professor of sociology and criminology at Villanova University, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to help Dom unpack why so many are pushing for a name change in Radnor, Pennsylvania, as a continued feud plays out over a potential name change away from the ‘Raiders.’ First, Eckstein contextualizes his relationship to the entire situation, as back in 2009 he hosted a conference at Radnor that set the stage for the name change in the city, explaining that he currently doesn’t have much hand in the movement to remove the ‘Raider’ name. Eckstein then tells the history of the ‘Raider’ name and the associations that come with it, noting that this is a huge issue with him in keeping the name. Eckstein further explains that the reason why ‘Raider’ is unacceptable, even though it has no immediate association to Native-American culture, is because there would be a slow seep in of the old mascot if they keep the name.
Sharyl Attkisson On Her Investigation into Origin Of Coronavirus
Sharyl Attkisson, former reporter for CBS until 2014 and host of Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss an ongoing investigation she’s undertaken to determine the origin of the virus. Atktisson explains that there have been Coronavirus experiments for many years in an effort to create vaccines, which is very well documented, and tells that there is a possibility that the virus is manmade.
