More Developments Surrounding Bucks Co.’s Director David Damsker

Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing the Tweetstorm that he received over the weekend after announcing his 2021 Local Person of the Year, Dr. David Damsker. Dom responds to the online critics, specifically discussing a Tweet sent by a columnist that writes for the same local paper. Giordano then discusses developments centered on Dr. Damsker and Bucks County, telling of an investigation by the Bucks County Courier Times that exposes emails sent by the state toward Bucks County dictating which mandates to enforce. Then, Giordano discusses the emergence of Gardner Minshew after a successful outing as the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback yesterday. After announcing the side topic centered around Minshew, Dom turns back toward more serious issues, discussing a rally on Temple’s campus featuring parents protesting against the lack of safety on campus, after another student was recently murdered. Then, after debating whether chips or pretzels are the better snack food, Giordano moves into a conversation about a potential rebirth of a mandatory draft.

Ray Didinger Breaks Down The Eagles Win Over the Jets

Dom leads off the second hour of today’s show by picking up the conversation centered on the push to add women to the military draft. Dom takes callers, including a woman who was a voluntary service member, who asks why this is even a topic of discussion in the political realm. Giordano explains that this is a purely political move, mostly because a mandatory draft is not even on the radar.

Then, Giordano welcomes famed Philadelphia sportswriter Ray Didinger to the show. Every week, Didinger joins the Program to run down the most recent Eagles game. This week, Didinger and Giordano recap yesterday’s win over the Jets, with the most pressing topic becoming a new QB controversy bubbling after a great outing by backup quarterback Gardner Minshew. Ray offers his thoughts on the controversy, discussing whether Minshew should retain the starting job once Hurts is healthy enough to play in the eyes of the front office. Didinger explains that he thinks the Philadelphia fan base should take a few breaths before charging full bore toward another controversy, after seeing how a similar debate tore apart the Wentz and Foles locker room. Then, Giordano asks about the Eagles receiving options with Dallas Goedert emerging as a true weapon, and Ray and Dom debate whether Hurts could gain anything from Minshew’s fruitful appearance.

Fitzpatrick Opponent Bradley Lanning Joins The Show, Parents At Temple Protest Campus Violence

In today’s third hour, Giordano invites Bradley Lanning onto the show, to discuss why he’s chosen to primary Representative Brian Fitzpatrick in the first district in the upcoming election. First, Lanning explains the concept and the mission of the America First Party, which has thrown their support behind Lanning. Lanning explains that America First is very self-explanatory, noting that the primary goal is to prioritize the needs of Americans. Giordano asks whether or not this is drawn from stances by the Trump administration, which Lanning affirms, further explaining which policies he’d hope to push for while in office. Lanning also tells why he’s running against Fitzpatrick, telling that for far too long, Fitzpatrick, in order to frame himself as a moderate, has voted against conservative causes. Then, Giordano asks about individual issues, gathering Lanning’s thoughts on the large infrastructure bill that Fitzpatrick voted for, arguing that while bipartisan is useful, his vote did not make much sense.

Then, after playing Dom’s movie-themed Money Melody, Giordano welcomes Virginia Jorgensen to the show to discuss a rally today that she organized, focused on the heighted crime on the Temple campus. Jorgensen, who has a daughter at Temple, organized other parents to rally with her to try and bring some sense of safety back to the Temple campus, after another Temple student was murdered on campus last week. Jorgensen explains what the parents have spoken out about, focusing on the Temple and Philadelphia police, which urges Giordano to question why the court system nor Larry Krasner have been considered at fault for the heightened crime. Also, Jorgensen explains what change has already been enacted after working with the TUPD, and tells as a mother whether she’s comfortable with her daughter continuing attendance at the University.
