Dr. Paul Offit On Return To In-Person Schooling
Dr. Paul Offit, Director of the Vaccine Education Center and attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at CHOP and FDA Vaccine Advisory Board Member, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss in-depth the proposition of teachers returning to school for in-person schooling. First, Offit explains that he agrees with CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, who this week noted that she believes it to be safe for teachers to return to in-person schooling, whether they have a vaccine or not. Then, Offit explains that this needs to occur with the utmost safety precautions in place, and describes what it is that many schools need to make teaching in-school more safe. Finally, Offit fully explains how the distribution of a vaccine works, and describes how the CDC and FDA determines who it is that should be prioritized for the vaccine.
A Bunch Of 'Jerks' Are Having A Protest

Schillinger updates the audience as to the status of the PAC’s fight, telling situations around the area in which administrators would say one thing but do another. Also, Schillinger explains why she’s now calling the members of her group ‘JERKS,’ meaning Just Educate Our Kids in School, after Rich Askey, head of the PSEA, labelled parents and school board candidates advocating for in-person schooling as ‘jerks.’
