Cake Master Jack Phillips Releases New Book, 'The Cost of My Faith'

Jack Phillips, the man who made headlines back in 2012 for declining a request to bake a wedding cake celebrating a same-sex marriage, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his new book regarding the incident, The Cost of My Faith: How a Decision in My Cake Shop Took Me to the Supreme Court. First, Giordano and Phillips discuss the power of Phillips’ faith, and the treatment he offers customers no matter what. Phillips recounts the day in question and the reaction of the customers when Phillips tried explaining his position. The case blew up into a national discussion of human rights, with people on both sides arguing either in favor of Mr. Phillips, or in favor of the customers, leading to a Supreme Court decision in favor of Phillips in 2018. Phillips explains what he learned through the entire case, and discusses how his faith pulled him through the entire situation.

Former Prosecutor Charles Gallagher and FOP President John McNesby On Election Day

Attorney Charles F. Gallagher III, a former Philadelphia prosecutor for 30 years, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss today’s election between District Attorney Larry Krasner and his opponent, Carlos Vega. Gallagher, who spent time holding positions of leadership in both the Philadelphia DA and the Lehigh County DA’s office, dishes on Larry Krasner’s version of justice, explaining why it is incredibly detrimental to the safety of the city. Also, FOP Lodge 5 President John McNesby joins the Dom Giordano Program to offer his thoughts on the race, after repeatedly finding himself in Krasner’s crosshairs for the FOP’s open distaste of the incumbent DA.

David Zweig On The Changing Landscape Of Childhood

David Zweig, writer for Wired, NY Times, The Atlantic, and New York Magazine, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss updates surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. A couple weeks ago, Zweig joined to discuss a piece he penned for New York Magazine concerning the CDC guidelines set forth for summer camps, which made it nearly impossible for summer camps to operate. Now, Zweig has penned a piece for Wired regarding the disappearance of snow days as schools learn more about technology from Coronavirus. Zweig fears that, as educators grasp virtual education, the snow day will disappear with lessons instead being taught online during inclement weather. Also, Zweig and Giordano discuss the CDC’s newest guidelines regarding masks, and offer whether or not they were surprised by the change of direction by the organization.
