Liberals Seem To Care More about Climate Than They Do Ukraine
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing the situation unfolding in Ukraine after Russia bombed multiple areas overnight. Giordano hones in on one aspect of the crisis, being progressives who continue to spew rhetoric such as John Kerry, who asked for Putin to be kind to the climate in his invasion of Ukraine. Then, Giordano takes aim at conservatives who continue to try and bastardize President Trump’s “America First” narrative, such as Mitt Romney who suggested the shortsightedness of the strategy was a catalyst for what we’re seeing unfold.
Then, State Senator Ed Durr checks in after taking office following his incredible underdog victory against former State Senate President Steve Sweeney. First, Giordano thanks Durr for his doodle submission for the upcoming Radiothon. Then, Giordano asks Durr what he’s seen first-hand in Trenton, with Durr breaking down the failures he’s recognized in the Murphy administration, particularly concerning vaccine mandates and voter identification. After that, Durr tells that he’ll be heading to the Salem County Fairgrounds to speak to a trucker convoy making its way through New Jersey to protest overbearing vaccine mandates set forth by both the State and Federal government.
Steve Keeley and Mark Squilla Reveal What They Know About A Potential Safe Injection Site
To lead off today’s second hour, Fox29’s ace morning reporter Steve Keeley returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss an interview he had with Mayor Jim Kenney on the street, regarding a potential return of a debate around safe injection sites in Philadelphia. Yesterday, both Keeley and Giordano learned through sources that Kenney would be meeting with Safehouse to discuss using DOJ funds to implement a safe injection site in the city. Kenney told Keeley that he is sick of seeing people die, and believes that there is a 7 out of 10 chance that we see a safe injection site in Philadelphia. Also, Keeley reveals the horrible homicide numbers in Philadelphia, and tells a little about the way he grew up.
Then, Councilman Mark Squilla returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the potential for a safe injection site. Squilla has joined the show often in the past as the strongest council person pushing back against the sites, serving districts most at risk for having a site plopped down, including South Philadelphia and Kensington. First, Squilla tells Giordano what he’s heard about a potential meeting between Mayor Kenney and Safehouse last night, discussing whether the change in tone by the DOJ could allow safe injection sites, after previously being shot down by U.S. Attorney Bill McSwain. Then, Squilla expresses why he’s against the sites in his district, taking listeners inside the situation playing out in Kensington, telling that he believes it will only make things worse.
What Will This Crisis In Ukraine Do To Gas Prices?
In today’s third hour, Michael Taylor, attorney for school board candidate Margie Miller, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to provide an update on an interview held a few weeks ago, after a suit was filed calling into question the 4 vote win for Miller in the Downingtown School Board race. Taylor tells us that the Supreme Court has thrown out the case, noting that the board of elections operated correctly, solidifying Millers seat on the board. Then, Taylor gives the lesson to learn in the situation, with Taylor explaining that the opposition will use every tactic they can to get their way.
Then, Dom circles back to Biden’s speech about the Russian invasion into Ukraine, summarizing what took place during the reporter questioning. After that, Giordano spends the remainder of the hour grading the Biden press conference and telling what should be done instead. Giordano then makes an observation about how this potential war will effect gas prices in the United States, and takes caller reports of what gas prices look like around the region.
