Updates on a Krasner Impeachment, Senate and Assembly Play Hot Potato
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing breaking news surrounding the groundbreaking letter sent last week by State Senator Jake Corman to the State Assembly, calling for the impeachment of District Attorney Larry Krasner. After an interview last week with a member of assembly who mentioned some hesitation in the Statehouse to back said letter, Corman has now launched a petition hoping to win over members of the assembly at ImpeachKrasner.com. Then, Giordano switches to a topic centered on schools in and around Philadelphia, telling that this week is National School Choice week, and explains how Philadelphians would benefit from such a suggestion.
School Board Election Disputed, Republicans Try To Push Back Against Krasner
To lead off today’s second hour, attorney Michael Taylor joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a situation playing out in the Downingtown Area School District featuring an election dispute. During the recent election, Margie Miller won a seat on the school board by a four vote margin. This past week, a lawyer for her competition disputed the election results, arguing that six ballots that have been disputed should win the competitor the election. Taylor takes us through the situation, telling the results of the election, and Giordano frames the situation in a larger scope, telling of the implications a decision on this election would have on mail-in ballots in elections state-wide.
Then, Pennsylvania Representative Craig Williams returns to the Dom Giordano Program for an update on another path to hold Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner accountability for the spike in crime we have seen here in Philadelphia. Last time Williams was on the Dom Show, he and Giordano discussed a grant that Williams received to help assist in prosecuting gun crimes in and around Philadelphia. Williams updates the situation on the grant, and tells how he hopes this helps the situation here in Philadelphia. Williams explains that Attorney General Shapiro and DA Krasner still continue to refuse all the tools at their avail to get the gun crisis in trouble. Then, Giordano asks Representative Williams for his opinion on the letter sent last week by Senator Corman calling for the assembly to begin the process for the impeachment of Krasner, with Williams telling why he does not currently support the initiative.
Chinese Gov. Ramps Up PR Prior To Beijing Olympics
In today’s final hour, Giordano leads off by circling back to the drama centered on Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. Dom plays back a clip from Senator Doug Mastriano on Newsmax, in which the senator told he would not support the impeachment since Krasner was just re-elected. Mastriano continued, agreeing with Krasner that the impeachment is based solely in politics. Giordano takes umbrage with Mastriano’s stance, explaining why he continues to believe that State Senator Corman’s angle of impeachment is the cleanest path to figuring out this situation. Then, Giordano and Dan discuss the Beijing Olympics, with Dan revealing details of a contract signed between the Chinese government and Western social media influencers.
Giordano also plays back a clip of Bill Gates wishing China a happy Lunar New Year, and Giordano and producer Dan discuss Gates’ pull in international affairs.
