Dr. Marty Makary, Professor at Johns Hopkins University and author of The Price We Pay: What Broke American Health Care – And How To Fix It, returns to the Dom Giordano Program for another check-in on the Coronavirus pandemic. First, Giordano and Makary discuss the notion of mask-wearing outdoors, with Dr. Anthony Fauci yesterday noting that he doesn’t believe outdoor mask wearing is necessary at this point in the virus. Then, Makary and Giordano discuss comments made by Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, who said that people will most likely need a COVID vaccination booster in 6 to 12 months, with annual vaccines being a possibility. Giordano asks Makary whether or not he would get a booster, and if he believes the boosters to be necessary. Finally, Giordano asks Makary for an update on herd immunity, to which Makary contextualizes where we’re at as a country, explaining that there finally seems to be a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.

Ian Prior, Co-Founder of DailyMalarkey.com and head of Loudoun (VA) Parents for Education and FightForSchools.com, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the decision by the state of Virginia to eliminate all accelerated math courses before 11th grade in an equity-focused plan. In the new initiative, lawmakers hope to provide a pathway for every student to be able to take calculus or higher math by the end of high school, if they choose. By ‘providing these pathways,’ lawmakers have eliminated the necessity for advanced math courses leading to the aforementioned 12th grade advanced courses. Prior notes that he’s spoken to thousands of parents who are against this push, which led him to create the group, but are afraid to speak out due to social repercussions by a radical Leftist sect who claim racism when detecting any pushback.
