Joe Termini of Termini Brothers on New Coronavirus Mandates for Businesses in Philadelphia

Joseph Termini, co-owner of Termini Brothers Bakery, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the decision by the city of Philadelphia to require businesses to choose between requiring all customers to mask up or require proof of vaccination. The owners of the bakery decided that it is more morally acceptable to require all customers to wear a mask instead of requiring papers for entry.  Termini explains that while he is not a fan of masks and hates that his workers have to work in such hot environments while wearing a mask, but argues against Giordano that it is legitimately the only suitable alternative, because they refuse to play the role of bouncer at their front door. Termini explains his stance on civil liberties, noting that the requirement to check papers or a passport goes against all he stands for in allowing personal freedoms.

Ocean City Councilman Keith Hartzell on Juvenile Policing in Shore Towns

Ocean City Councilman Keith Hartzell rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a situation that many shore towns face as they try to address a growing rash of crime perpetrated by juveniles in shore towns. According to 6ABC, Ocean City police reportedly issued more than 10,000 warnings and arrested 107 juveniles since Memorial Day. Hartzell explains that the leadership in Trenton continues to try to address social issues and only repeatedly create issues for small towns, noting a conversation he shared with Senate President Steve Sweeney about the culmination of the policy that has led to police officers having their hands tied when dealing with unruly juveniles. Hartzell explains what local towns are doing to confront the issue, and discusses with Dom the idea of joining together as shore towns to address the policy.

Wall Township BoE Member Speaks Out Against Gov. Murphy’s Mask Mandate Executive Order

Ralph Addonizio, President of the Wall Township, NJ Board of Education, joins the Dom Giordano Program after his school board spoke out against New Jersey Governor Murphy’s executive order for a mask mandate centered on schools in New Jersey. In a letter penned to Wall residents, Addonizio explained that the board takes issue with Executive Order 251 as it runs directly counter to a decision made by the district-wide Pandemic Response Team, which suggested that schools remain mask optional for the 2021-2022 school year. Addonizio explains that the new executive order removes decision-making from the school district and local leaders, those who know how to address the situation for their local area the best. Addonizio noted that the board is not coming out against mask mandates, and want to leave open the possibility of requiring masks in the future, but the overbearing nature of an executive order makes the jobs of local officials even harder.

Josh Hogan of ReOpen Bucks PA on Support for Director Damsker

Josh Hogan, leader of ReOpen Bucks PA, a group of parents fighting to keep schools and businesses in Bucks County open, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss why he and others have put together a petition in support of Damsker’s leadership throughout the pandemic. Hogan explains that there’s been a movement against Damsker, trying to turn him into a political figure, solely for occasionally pushing against the grain of overbearing edicts. Hogan explains that supporting Damsker and having county commissioners back the Health Direct help to further the legitimacy of policies that have proven to work for the county. To show support for Director David Damsker, Hogan asks for people to head over to SupportDamsker.com.
